The RoMa Craft Intemperance Volstead VO 1920 is the brand's nod to the Prohibition era — named for the Volstead Act that ushered in the country's dry years. Co-founder Skip Martin has described it as "the lighter side" of RoMa Craft, and it lives up to the framing: an Ecuadorian Sumatra Hybrid wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and a Dominican-Nicaraguan filler blend.
The flavor opens with light coffee and a clean baking-spice note, joined by gentle pepper and a touch of leather underneath. Through the middle third, cashews and caramel emerge alongside a soft cinnamon thread, with hints of honey butter and chocolate adding sweetness in the back half. The finish carries a smoky cedar and a quiet vanilla undertone.
VO 1920 is medium-plus in body with the kind of layering that rewards attention but doesn't demand it. It's an excellent daytime cigar — pairs naturally with morning coffee, a Manhattan, or any quiet hour that calls for complexity without weight.
